So I just got my first acceptance letter for the 2011 art fair season.  I will be at the Spring Bloom Arts Festival in Bloomington IL, March 19th from 10am-5pm.  Its always great to start the season a little early, and this should be a nice one day show.  For more information please visit http://www.mcaart.org/mcac/html/springbloom.html.  Hopefully there will be many more to added to the art fair schedule page in the next couple of months...wish me luck :)

Also, my  paintings are coming along nicely, I have several new ones in the works.  I just haven't posted any of them yet...I'm trying to spend a little more time painting and stocking up for art fair season, and a little less time on the internet!

This is the new 16" x 20 I just finished.  I've also included a photo of the 30" x 40" painting I started yesterday...it looks pretty rough right now!  I'm trying a little different process, I'm doing a very thin wash to start with in order to get the colors set and figured out, then my plan is to do several more thin layers over that, with each layer drying in between...I'll see how it goes, I just want to try and work in as many colors and as much contrast as I can.  Usually I do paintings almost "alla prima", so this will be a little different for sure.

Well I'm working away on a 16" x 20" painting, it should be finished soon, but every time I say something will be finished by certain day or time, it never ends up happening that way.  So instead of promising a time, I will just stick with soon :-) 
I've also been kind of busy lately with art fair applications...what a process, I can't wait to get this over with!

Yay!  I finally got these finished...I still need to take a couple more photos of them showing the zoomed out view of the whole painting with sides etc.  That should be finished tomorrow :)  I always like to show the side view of a painting so customers can get a better idea of what it actulk looks like instead of just a 2 dimensional flat image.

Ok, so I'm still working on those two new paintings...will be posting soon! :)  I think Christmas and New Years slowed down my progress a bit.  I haven't even started sending in my art fair apps yet
